Celebrate women through music, film, discussions and art inspired by our upcoming Judithe Hernández exhibition, marking the first solo exhibition of a Chicanx artist at MOLAA.

The evening will include:

- A performance by Alice Bag, a pioneering punk Chicanx singer & songwriter creating the first wave of punk in Los Angeles. Chulita Vinyl Club an all-female vinyl collective will DJ the evening.
A performance by ELLA, a post-punk band out of Los Angeles spreading awareness and combating social injustices through ARTivism.

- Complimentary tequila tastings by Sangre De Vida, an award winning family-owned tequila company based out of California. Sangre De Vida was founded by artist Kim Brandi.

-Artists Natalie Mik and Virginia Broersma present 'Afterlight', an art installation which uses the mediums of performance, video, and painting to remember forgotten and invisible bodies through ideas of ephemerality and permanence. The piece will be expanded by text written by Virginia Arce

Grab Bag Studio an art space and pop-up concept based in Long Beach presents artist Kiyomi Fukui Nannery. Who will present an exercise in sincerity, where participants are invited to share one true statement about themselves, then add their thumbprint to the artist's collection. Through the impressions of the participants, a visual landscape of collective honesty will be formed.

Ovarian Psycos - Documentary directed by Kate Trumbull-LaValle & Johanna Sokolowski, a documentary about a new generation of fierce, unapologetic and feminist women of color from the Eastside of Los Angeles who confront injustice, build community, and redefine identity through a raucous, irreverently named bicycle crew: The Ovarian Psycos Cycle Brigade. Stick around after the film for a Q & A with some of the ladies from the film.

Mujeres De Maiz (Women of the Corn) will be holding a space filled with dialogue aiming to bring together and empower diverse women. As an inter-cultural, intergenerational and interdisciplinary collective they have made that space from the stage to the page, the gallery to the streets, and ceremony and wellness world for women of color by sharing their own specific blend of mind, body, spirit and cultural work.

The night will also include a female craft vendors, food for purchase, photobooth and a cash bar.
